General Meeting

Join our meetup for atheists, freethinkers, skeptics, and those who just need a break from the largely theistic world. We get together for fellowship and discussion on the second Saturday of every month. Come join us!

You are welcome to ask questions if you are interested in the group, or interested in learning more about atheism, freethinking, or skepticism. Religious people with a sincere interest in understanding us are welcome, BUT please, no proselytizing, preaching, or drive-by condemning. Uncivil or threatening behavior from anyone of any viewpoint will not be tolerated. If you wish to discuss something privately and confidentially, contact one the group leaders by way of a private message.

We have regular monthly meetings where we provide confidential mutual support for nonbelievers living in a sometimes hostile environment. Family, friends, and co-workers are often unwilling to understand or accept our lack of belief in deities or the supernatural. We discuss pertinent issues in science, politics, and religion, and generally enjoy being able to speak freely with each other.

We also work to improve the reputation of atheists in general and participate constructively in our local community through outreach efforts such as feeding the homeless, participating in the annual River Rally, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, manning an information booth at appropriate community events in the SCV, and sending representatives to interfaith events locally and in the greater Los Angeles area.
